Autoimmune Disease Symptoms

Autoimmune disease symptoms can range from being mildly annoying to absolutely debilitating. Basically the body gets confused and turns on its "self" antibodies. Other immune system players mistakenly get a signal to attack the body's own tissues. It basically is nature's nasty catch-22.

You need a strong immune system, but when you have autoimmune issues a strong immune system works against you. Most conventional care is to place someone on lifelong drugs that turn down the immune system and their pain levels. Unfortunately long-term use of these drugs can damage the liver and other body parts.

  • The good news is these patients usually get tremendous relief and even remission of their autoimmune disease symptoms if they can find and remove the trigger that is causing the inflammation

Some diseases are so commonplace, some folks forget they are actually really autoimmune diseases. Diabetes is a good example of this; it has become so prevalent that people don't even consider it autoimmune.

  • Here is an autoimmune disease list that may include some diseases you didn't know were self-inflicted. This list includes many autoimmune conditions but also diseases that present with autoimmune symptoms:

Many Autoimmune Diseases Are Caused By Diet And Lifestyle

autoimmune diseasesMany of the problems reverse once the diet is cleaned up properly. Switching to a plant-based diet is the most important step

Some of these autoimmune symptoms are genetic but many of them are solely caused by diet and lifestyle. I have seen many of the problems on the autoimmune disease list reverse once the diet is cleaned up properly. Most autoimmune diseases have serious underlying inflammation issues and a leaky gut component.

Just because you have the genes for an autoimmune condition does not mean they have to turn on and be activated. Unfortunately the genes can turn up when people eat a diet full of animal products, dairy, and animal-based oils. Other contributing factors are a refined high carbohydrate diet, too many medications or vaccines, serious illness, or even chronic stress. Once the genes are activated you cannot get rid of the disease, just manage it. Antibodies are always there, but sometimes you can turn down the response on them so they stop attacking your own tissues. Please check out the links above to get more information about a particular condition.
